Fellow Candidate's Experience:
Dr Shakib
I completed a 9-month fellowship in Arthroplasty and Arthroscopy, but unexpectedly gained extensive experience in Trauma as well. This program exceeded my expectations and transformed me into a confident orthopaedic surgeon.
The hands-on experience was unparalleled, with 45 total knee replacements performed independently. I also successfully completed over 15 total hip replacements, honing my skills and building confidence.
The arthroscopy exposure was immense, with numerous opportunities to assist and perform procedures independently. I gained expertise in various arthroscopic techniques and developed a deeper understanding of joint anatomy and pathology.
I also had the privilege of assisting in rare and complex cases, including:
– Trapezius transfer for rotator cuff repair
– Meniscus transplant
– Reverse shoulder Arthroplasty
Ironically, I learned more during this fellowship than during my entire Master’s degree program. My mentor’s guidance and feedback were invaluable, helping me refine my surgical skills and decision-making.
This fellowship was a turning point in my career, and I’m forever grateful for the experience.
Dr Sourab
I had the privilege of completing my fellowship in Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty under Dr. Jagadish, and it has been an incredibly enriching experience. He is not only a highly skilled surgeon with a vast array of cases but also an exceptional mentor who is deeply invested in his students’ learning.
His hands-on approach ensures that every fellow gains practical experience, building confidence in performing procedures independently. He is patient, meticulous, and ensures that no aspect of the training is overlooked. His guidance extends beyond technical skills—he instills a strong sense of clinical judgment, precision, and ethical practice.
Dr. Jagadish creates an environment where learning thrives, making complex surgeries approachable and emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement. I am truly grateful for his mentorship and would highly recommend training under him to anyone looking to gain expertise in this field.
Dr Kunal
A 6-month fellowship with Dr. Jagadish Surannavar was a life-changing experience for me. What typically takes 18 months to learn was strategically condensed into a short time with immense first-hand experiences. It gave me the confidence to start performing all kinds of arthroscopic procedures independently at a very early stage in my career. His way of working and principles are at par with the latest advancements, and his teaching methods make it easy for beginners to master the art of arthroscopy and joint replacement.
